License Renewal for Explosive Substances: Get Information on Form and Fees Here!

In India, it is mandatory to get licenses for manufacturing, storing, and selling explosive and volatile substances. Governed by Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO), these licenses are awarded after a thorough investigation of the site and assets where the manufacturer is planning to get the manufacturing process underway.

PESO was formed as the Department of Explosives in 1890 by East India Company and was later merged under Department for the Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This was done to ensure smoother functioning of all the allied domains in the industry and to facilitate easier licensing for companies. 

Renewal of Licenses and Renewal Fees

For explosive and volatile substances, PESO offers a license for five years. It may be continued or terminated as per the payment of annual license or renewal fee respectively. The latter has to be ascertained at least six weeks before the expiry of the date of the license.

You may pay renewal fees after the expiry date by paying a late fee within a three-month grace period.
