Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO): License and Renewal
Petroleum And Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) is a department formed by the Government of India. The former is placed under the Department for the Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade to standardize the creation, import, export, conveyance, storing, and usage of several petroleum products. These also include ensuring the availability of pressure vessels and cryogenic vessels, and backing of proper designing and installation of all necessary safety measures, etc.
A regulatory authority with an autonomous status, PESO is built on the premises to safeguard the application of statutory guidelines like the following:
1. Explosives Act 1884
2. Explosive Substance Act
3. Petroleum (Production) Act 1934
4. Inflammable substance Act 1952
5. Environment Protection Act 1986
Why do you need a PESO license?
A PESO License is the registration certificate offered by the Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organization of India. It is a compulsory approval program for the oil and gas industry, and also for those industries that work with oil or gas industries in India. It is here to safeguard the professional interests of personnel and the finances involved.
Certification process
A successful receiving of registration documents takes about three months from the date of application. It is important to verify the details before you submit the form. This certificate is valid for one to 10 years depending on product. It can be renewed at PESO’s website afterward.
You can submit internationally recognized test reports (like IECEx or ATEX). If you don’t have them, you should ask a regulatory authority to supervise your plant or machinery and then offer you a compliance certificate.
